Kelly’s Roast Beef in Saugus temporarily closed after employee infected with salmonella

Kelly’s Roast Beef in Saugus is temporarily closed after a worker was infected with salmonella, officials said.

There are no known cases of infected customers, Ann Scales, a spokeswoman for the state Department of Public Health, said in a statement to the Globe.

“We are working closely with the health department in Saugus to take every measure to protect the public,” Scales said in the statement.

The Saugus Board of Health allowed the restaurant to stay open, but it closed because it is short-staffed while employees are being tested for salmonella, Kelly’s Roast Beef said in a Facebook post.
